The Greater Oklahoma City Parks & Trails Foundation proudly welcomes Gary K. Vernon, Director of Outdoor Recreation and Trail Innovation for Runway Group.
Vernon is considered one of the leading experts in developing mountain bike trail systems and has consulted communities around the world. Throughout his career, Vernon has overseen the design and construction of over 600 miles of world-class mountain bike trails. His work in Northwest Arkansas helped transform the region into a destination for outdoor recreation, which generated over $159 million in 2022 and has added over 68,000 jobs to the area.
The presentation, Building Your Community With Trails: OKC’s Next Step, will cover the impact of trail building on communities and how Oklahoma City can continue its positive momentum with the addition of more trails. This free event will be held on Thursday, June 26, at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art. Light breakfast bites will be provided.
